Here's some ideas that through some mutation some broods are benign.

First one is that the brood forms a symbiotic relationship with the hosts.

Second one is that the brood is that it coexists with the inhabitants, even with some part of society and holding jobs.

Third one is similar to the first except that the assimilated keeps their preassimilated form and individuality, but is still connected to the hivemind after assimilation.

Could I draw an amalgamate?

Not gonna lie ThemeFinland but this stuff reminds me of E-001 from Resident Evil 7. When it comes to looks and behavior. It takes control of the host and the host can’t fight it. But what happens when the matriarch (or source when it comes to E-001) dies?

I am new to this group and I am terrified of the species called the Amalgamate. I was think of a creature that I have put up I thought it would be used in a small project that everyone could take part in.

So it is like the Amalgamate but almost like competition and you still retain your mind but you are in constant pain when you are assimilated, which causes you to shamble towards your prey. The Hungry as it is called will go into 3 parts
1. The Hungry Noble who controls whoever he assimilates. In no constant pain and can make himself look human in order to assimilate more people.
2. The Hungry Peasant who is in constant pain and is the most common. People usually put these people out of their misery but they act as a way to slow down the amalgamates.
3. The Hungry Matriarch who absorbs all of the nutrients in order to feed all of the other hungries. Can multiply itself as a reproductive measure and can only quench its hunger by eating an amalgamation.
I was thinking what if they also drew OCS and even have The Hungry be able to strengthen whomever it meets? Since The Hungry is actually a chaotic neutral and it is a 50/50 chance you will get assimilated or strengthened. And it also acts as a measure since the strengthened might not know any better and tell more prey about it.
People can explain how the Hungry Amalgamation May work and how it is a branch off of the most popular one.
Oh and the color is blood red instead of black or purple.

I know this group is about art and works relating to the awesome yet terrifying species known as the amalgamate, but I was thinking about a story I was writing a while back and how it could be kinda used in a small project for everyone to take part in.

Basically I was working on the idea of a Space ship who's crew is composed of specialist who's sole mission falls into 3 parts.

1 - gather all knowledge on the infectious organism known as the Amalgamate
2 - Help any civilization prepare / defend itself from planet wide assimilation
3 - collect and preserve as much data as possible on infected civilizations and as many genetic samples as possible.

And I was thinking, what if the crew was made from OC's of other characters in the group? It'd made a fun group project if people are interested and opens chances for more story wise explanation of the Amalgamate just an idea I thought I'd share.
